
Neal Chavez
Head Coach Tam HS
Coach Neal Chavez is entering his first year as Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Tamalpais High School. Neal brings with him an accomplished basketball resume and strong family roots in the Marin and Tam communities. Neal comes from a family rich in basketball tradition. Neal’s Grandfather, Ed Chavez, was a longtime coach and teacher at Tamalpais High School. His Dad, Buck Chavez and his uncle Eddy-Joe, played at Drake/Archie Williams High School, went on to play D1, and both had successful professional careers abroad. Neal’s passion for the game of basketball has led him to his own successful playing career. Excelling in the game at Archie Williams, College Of Marin, and at the Division 2 level. Coach Chavez’s new purpose is to give back to the very community that gave him and his family so much. Through basketball he hopes to teach and instill the same values that were given to him through this great game.
